Hyundai Australia wait times: What’s the latest?

Anyone who orders a new Hyundai will likely be waiting between three and six months for their car to arrive.

The i20 N and i30 N hatches are facing the biggest delays with waits of more than 12 months, while the Staria and Tucson diesel have the best availability with average waits of less than three months.

Exactly how long you’ll have to wait depends on which exact variant you’re looking at, in which colour.

Like all brands, Hyundai has been hit by a combination of semiconductor shortages and shipping delays in Australia.

Orders for most models are open, save for the i20 N. According to dealer documents shared with CarExpert, a range of issues are causing delays.

The document lists “Smart Key Restrictions” on the i30 Sedan, “sunroof restriction” on the Kona and “battery supply restrictions” on the Kona EV, and delays on the petrol engines fitted to the Tucson and Santa Fe.
